If you ask any school age child within 2 hours of Washington, D.C. if they have ever been to the nation’s capital on a field trip, the answer will most definitely be “YES!” They go for a day - on a bus, or on the train - visit as many Smithsonian museums as they can (that miraculously fit in the curriculum) and then head home. They are tired, happy, and full of the history and culture of our capital city.

Students within a few hours drive aren’t the only ones that get to experience D.C. There are many middle school teachers around the country that take their students on an educational Washington, D.C. school trip. There are so many things that this city has to offer, that you can most definitely spend a few days exploring.

No matter how many days you spend, or how many times you have been on an educational tour in Washington, D.C. there is always more to see and do. Here are the top 5 reasons why you should let us plan your next school trip to Washington, D.C.

  1. Every student should spend time in our Nation’s Capital.–This city is different than any other city in our country - it is a picturesque tourist destination, but also a working federal city with an abundance of history. Not only will they get to experience a city like no other, but we will also take them into the Capitol Building, the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court where they will get to learn about the inner workings of our country.

  2. The Smithsonian.– There are 19 world class museums, galleries, gardens, and a zoo that you can visit while you are here. No matter what you are working on with your class - civics, art, science, history, technology - we will find a museum that will fit your needs.

  3. Monuments and memorials.– You may not get to all 160 monuments and memorials during your visit, but you will most definitely see more than you expect. These D.C. landmarks are inspiring and perfectly laid out around the city.

  4. We value time spent outside.– While you explore Washington, D.C. you will come across many gardens, bodies of water, parks, wildlife areas and even national parks. If you would like to experience nature on an even bigger scale, we will bring your group to the Shenandoah National Park and spend a day hiking and rafting in one of our country’s 62 protected areas known as national parks.

  5. We are here for you!- We want to make your educational trip to Washington, D.C. exactly what you want it to be. We work closely with every teacher to customize their trip to match the individual needs of their students.
